Let's face it: not everyone wants a huge wedding. Maybe you don't like big crowds. Or money is tight. Or you are saving to buy a house in a very expensive market. No matter the reason, we've put together a couple of options to help you out!
We view micro-weddings as any wedding with 50 or fewer guests. You can still have a ceremony and reception, but we've shortened the time on property to 8 hours (including setup and cleanup) and offer these smaller events on Fridays or Sundays only. And since you have fewer guests, it's less work for us before and after the event. That means you save money!
Your day at Mohican Gardens begins at 12:00 noon and concludes at 8:00 pm. That's plenty of time to come in, get ready, get married (!), take pictures, and enjoy a reception with your family and friends. We will set up one space---usually our lakeside pergola or the barn---for your ceremony, and another for the reception. We take care of all tables, chairs, and white linen table cloths. You bring in food and beverages. If you need help finding a good caterer, we can steer you in the right direction.
Here is a typical schedule for a micro-wedding:
12:00 Arrive on property to begin decorating and getting ready
(tables, chairs, and linens will already be in place when you arrive)
12:00-3:00 Decorate and get dressed
3:00-4:00 pre-wedding photos in the gardens
4:00-4:30 Guests arrive
4:30-5:00 Ceremony
5:00 Dinner
6:00 Dancing
7:30 cleanup
8:00 Everyone goes home!
